Mailbox, while you're abroad
While abroad, you may need to use your mailbox to send or receive emails. In this case the actions that we can undertake are of two kind:
1) connect to our mail-server using a webmail service
2) connect to our mail-server from a mail client on which we have configured our mail account.
I think, that the second option is the easiest one, although you have to use some tricks because it's working ad-hoc.
Email uses two types of protocols:
smtp to send mail
pop3 to receive mail
Typically, the smtp-server is used only if you connect with the Internet
Service Provider on.
This involves having to change smtp-server every time, according to the ISP
that we are using.
Since we can not always get the Isp to which we are connected, to overload
this problem we will seek help from Google.
Gmail allows you to use its smtp-server,whit any Isp you're using.
To do this we must:
1) create a gmail account
2) Go to Settings->Option->Chat and Import Accounts
And add your email address to "send as"
Obviously, in setting up your email client you will need to set like
smtp-server, smtp.gmail.com port 465 because the connection is under Ssl.
Enjoy!
